The Congress on Numerical Methods in Engineering (CMN) is held biennially and gathers the most relevant scientific and technical contributions in the field of numerical methods and computational mechanics, as well as their practical applications.
CMN 2026, jointly organized by the Spanish (SEMNI) and Portuguese (APMTAC) societies on numerical methods, will have the collaboration of the University of Oviedo as the host institution, providing local academic and organizational support.
Previous joint congresses of both societies were held in Madrid (2002), Lisbon (2004), Granada (2005), Porto (2007), Barcelona (2009), Coimbra (2011), Bilbao (2013), Lisbon (2015), Valencia (2017), Minho (2019), Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (2022), and Aveiro (2024).
This edition of the congress will take place in Gijón, at La Laboral Ciudad de la Cultura, one of the most remarkable cultural venues in northern Spain, which combines history, architecture, and technology. This exceptional setting will provide the ideal framework for knowledge exchange, scientific discussion, and the creation of new collaborative networks.
The scientific program of CMN 2026 will be organized into thematic sessions according to the various specialties within numerical methods. The presentations delivered during the congress will serve as a reference for recent advancements and future directions in advanced numerical modeling.
In addition, internationally renowned researchers will deliver plenary lectures that will enrich the event and inspire the participating scientific community.
